Knowing what went wrong is the only way to fix a problem. Analysing what is happening is the only way to find out.
|
Once you study the problem, and can identify what is going wrong, you can move on to how to fix it.
- Both b and d have a circle and a stick. How can I remember which side the stick is on for b and which side for d? Oh! Miss says, "b is a bat and a ball... d is a donut and a door!" I see it now!
- How can I throw the ball so that it doesn't bounce off the rim? Am I not throwing hard enough? Am I not aiming for the right spot on the backboard? Am I not putting enough spin on the ball to make it bounce into the net. I'll experiment until I find the way that works.
- My fingers can't reach around the neck of the guitar when I hold it like this. How can I change my grip to make it easier to play that chord?
- I am only using one study strategy -- read over the text. How can I change my study habits to help me remember the French vocabulary better?
- My marble has more speed at this point of the track. How can I change the track to keep the marble rolling along?
- All that fresh air, sunshine, and noise coming in the window is making my mind wander. Where can I move to concentrate better?
Remember: finding all the wrong ways to do something is still learning!
